Mercy's Mission

Group in AugustMercy’s Mission was started in 2012 after we were informed of the dire need that orphans are facing in the DR Congo. It is based on Hosea 14:3 (ESV) “in You, the orphan finds mercy”. We are a Christian organization that believes that each child is valuable to God and has a purpose in this life. Scripture teaches that Christ has a special heart for widows and orphans. And since we are to follow Christ, this is one way that you are able to care for orphans personally. Not every family is called to adopt, but every family could support a child monthly with little sacrifice or with a one-tme donation.

Preset Styles

The Style Settings panel in the Gantry based theme administration interface provides several options for configuring the main built in stylistic aspects of the template.

Style

Gantry also provides the ability for you to create your own custom presets based on any parameter in the theme administrator. You should determine which parameters you wish to configure to be a part of the presets.


Assigning a Style

With Gantry, the ability to assign a certain style to an individual page has never been easier and/or more efficient. Just follow these simple steps:

  • Go to Extensions → Template Manager → rt_kirigami → Assignments → *Menu Item*
  • Select your preset from Show Presets, configure and save.

After setting your defaults to the desired values, select the Menu Items button and choose the menu item you wish to modify the parameters for. You will then see a series of checkboxes on the left of all the supported parameters. Select the checkbox next to the parameter you wish to modify, it will then become active, and you can modify as you wish. Clicking “Save” or “Apply” in the toolbar will then save this configuration.

Sponsor a Child

We began this child sponsorship program to ensure that each child at these orphanages receives 2 meals per day as well as schooling. For $33.00 a month, you can sponsor a child and change their life. $30.00 covers their food (as well as water and firewood for cooking) and schooling and there is a $3.00 handling fee. The $3.00 fee helps pay the wiring fees and the salary of the National Director of Mercy’s Mission in Africa.

Take a few minutes to see the children by selecting the Faces of Mercy's Mission from the menu on the left.  If you see a child that you are interested in sponsoring, Contact us and include the child's name and picture number in the email.
